Hi! I am SammyBird! I am a male Cockatiel and I love singing and talking to people. I had a good home with my mom & dad in Indiana! They talked to me a lot and loved me. I would sit on my mom's shoulder while she worked and talk to her all the time. My mom worked at a vets office. One day she came home sad and talked to my dad about a lady who called in, something about 2 Cockatoos that were supposed to die because they were not pretty anymore! Mom was very upset and wanted to stop the lady from killing the birds. Dad and mom agreed that even though we were a small bird family and did not know much about big birds we had to do something. I was excited! What would my new BIGG bird friends be like? Mom & dad went to get them and found another Cockatoo, Logan, there too. The lady said Logan was still pretty and she was keeping him. Mom was upset, but she knew Cory & BabyGirl (aka.Sunny) had to get home with us quick! They were a mess! Cory & BabyGirl were both very nervous and for a reason mom says was stress, they pulled out almost ALL their feathers!  OUCH! That has got to hurt! You have to be one really sad & mad bird to do that to yourself! Mom & dad talked real quiet to my new brother & sister. Cory said "SHUT UP"!!!!  all the time & that Cory's a BAD BIRD! Mom told him, Cory is a GOOD bird! Mom said lots of nice things to them and moved them into a big room and got them new BIGG cages. Cory learned to say Cool stuff at our house and BabyGirl got her new name from mom. We did not like calling her Sunny because she was just too nice and Cory called her BabyGirl so we did too. Mom read everything she could on taking care of my new family members and did a good job, but she felt overwhelmed, like she was not sure what else to do for them. One day dad was talking to a friend who know our new FOREVER mommy, Karen, mom and Karen talked and soon after she was here! Our forever mom was with her family, Kelsi & Jesse. They talked to us and told us we would be moving to a really cool new place to live forever! I jumped right in my carrier, but Cory did not want to go! He had had enough and was too afraid of living like he did before, so he put his foot up for Karen to get him and WHAM!!! Bit her REALLY HARD!!!  She was bleeding! Karen made a scrunchy face and just said "Oh Cory no one will hurt you ever again" and put him back on his cage carefully, you see Cory is missing the lower part of all his toes and cannot stand well, so she made sure he was safe on his cage top before letting him down. I liked her! BabyGirl gave Karen a hard time too but then finally she was in her carrier and we all started our long journey home! We drove 4 hours before finally seeing our new place! It was COOL! Bright and sunny and lots of cool stuff to do and we could hear the other birds but our new mommy said we could not see them because we had to stay in quarantine until the vet said it was ok.  Now we are all together and I live with a new BIGG family of Cockatiels! We go outside and do fun stuff together and eat people food almost everyday! Karen kept her promise to NOT separate us too! We are all still together and LOVE living here!
